OSCARS 2016 finally found their owners last night. This ceremony has always been a must-see in my life, so, obviously, I couldn’t miss it yesterday, even though it was 3:30 AM when the ceremony started according to Kiev time. But what can I say, it was so worth it!
My HUGE congratulations this time go to Leonardo DiCaprio!!! A legendary moment at the Oscars! Nobody deserved it better! Gosh, 6 nominations over all these years and somehow no Oscars until now. Seriously, I don’t understand how that could happen, take ‘Titanic’ and ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ alone! He so should have won long ago.
I guess, everyone in the world, just like me, was rooting for him as if it were them nominated. I was 99.99% sure he’d get it, but still I was feeling so anxious during the naming of the nominees for “Best Actor”. And when I heard “Leonardo DiCaprio”, it was like a dream came true. The only thought I had was FINALLY!!! Seeing all those well-known people giving a standing ovation for Leo, and watching him all so excited like a child who has just received a long-desired gift, almost got me in tears!
So, yeah, this year’s Oscars really left me happy, and here’re some more reasons why:
1. Leo. Obviously.
Just Look at this:
2. Brie Larson = “Best Actress”. I knew all along that Brie would win an Oscar, she was so great in ‘Room’ – a powerful movie with great plot and acting, very well-made (I give it 10/10)!
3. Alicia Vikander = “Best Supporting Actress”. ‘The Danish Girl’ is another perfect film! Alicia did a great job alongside Eddie Redmayne. Well-deserved Oscar. Amazing actress! And she looked great at the red carpet as well!
4. If it was possible, I’d give the award to the cutest guy on the Oscars red carpet last night to the new celebrity, the youngest but very promising actor Jacob Tremblay, who played alongside Brie Larson in the ‘Room’. P.S. I loved those Darth Vader socks he was wearing with his Armani suit!
5. A pleasant surprise was to see our favourites droids from ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ – C3PO, R2D2 and BB8. This squad is super entertaining.

Too bad that a movie ‘Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom (2015)’ didn’t win in its category! It’s a very strong film that depicts the Maidan evens as they really were. If you haven’t watched it, do it, you won’t regret. But ‘Amy’ was a strong competitor in the documentaries category.
And last but not least, below are some pictures of the best dressed at the Oscars 2016, as for me:
*the ‘70s influence all the way: a lot of low-cut dresses*
